What is insurance bad faith?

Insurance bad faith is a term used to describe the situation where you’ve purchased a policy of insurance and it covers a certain set of circumstances. You make a valid claim to that insurance company and the insurance company either fails to properly investigate or just flat out refuses to play your claim, and they’re in the wrong for doing that. In other words, you had a valid claim. You’re entitled then to bring them into court to make them not only pay for the contract that you had signed up for, but also to get punitive damages for their willful, is the term that’s used, refusal to pay that claim. My law firm takes those kind of cases, and they’re more common than you think.
